Light Therapy for SAD (winter depression) – Has anyone tried it?
Posted: May 18th, 2010 | Author: admin | Filed under: light therapy for depression | Tags: depression seasonal affective disorder, insomnia, lamps, personal experience, seasonal affective disorder | 2 Comments »My shrink realized that my depression seems to be much worse in the winter than at other times, and said I might benefit from light therapy. So my family ordered me one of the special lamps for my birthday and it just arrived today.
I was wondering if anybody had personal experience using light therapy to treat depression, seasonal affective disorder, or insomnia. Did you like it? Did it work for you?

This is my second year using my light. I love it! It has made a major difference in my moods. No more depression!
I used to live in NH and got very depressed in March. Moved to FL, March doesn’t bother me. I worked in psych hospital in Arkansas for awhile we had a training on SAD and the research show that the white light does work. We used in the hospital and out patient clinic. Good for your folks for buying it for you. I have to say I was skeptical at first, but the patient statements about improvement convinced me it does work.
