Laser skin therapy…….??

I have light skin, and as I have gotten older (42) I have brown patches and brown spots on my face (from old sun exposure and taking birth control pills). I have tried bleach creams, and they just don’t work.
I am thinking about getting Laser resurfacing. Is this costly?
about how much? and is it a one time deal, or do I have to keep going back?
