The Treatment of Pain and Better Circulation Through Infrared Light Therapy

Posted: October 22nd, 2009 | Author: admin | Filed under: infrared light therapy | Tags: | No Comments »

In the medical profession, Infrared light therapy has been around for close to 20 years in the use of pain reduction and improves circulation in the body. In essence, infrared light treatments are used as a heat modality for many areas of physical therapy, now considered a medical stipulation. An ancient practice, the increased recognition of it today has brought about plenty of new changes in the use of light emitting diodes, or LEDs, also known as Monochromatic Infrared Energy.

The benefit of the traditional medical field and their increased acceptance of infrared light therapy is that research began to build up it in regard to its positive aspects, and life saving qualities, whereas needless surgeries and dangerous medication had been used in the past. A recent system of infrared light therapy uses a new mixture of infrared light energy

  • Non visible forms and
  • Visible known as the Healthlight System.

The Visible Infrared Light is a system that is acknowledged as being able to reach about eight to 10 mm into the human skin surface, useful for many types of surface wounds, cuts, scars, triggers, acupuncture points and treating infections.  Alternatively, the Invisible Infrared Light can reach a depth of about 30 to 40 mm, an area that entails bones, deep muscles, and joints. What all of this refers to is that both the red and the infrared wavelengths have the capacity to reach different depths nevertheless have similar therapeutic effects in the healing process.

Credit should be given where credit is due, infrared light therapy is an olden form of light therapy that originated when sunlight shining on bare skin was filtered through red stained glass. From then on, records show us that more is known about infrared light therapy than any other treatment in history and red will stimulate the system as it is a base chakra color, the “fight or flight” spot.

The Healthlight system comprises the infrared light therapy and the visible light diodes, which generates a warm feeling on its pads. Also, an increase in circulation takes place or a reduce in swellings, decreased inflammations, diminished tension, or reductions in muscle spasms or even tightness. Yet at the same time, undesirable side effects of using the infrared light therapy through Healthlight are almost negligible, because of the built-in timers and auto shut-off attributes. Minor situation that may occur are a burning to an area if the infrared systems are left for extended period if they do not have a timer or shut-off, and diabetic individuals should have their insulin levels checked during the infrared light therapy procedures.

Medicare does not cover or endorse the code for the Infrared Heating Pad for home treatments, but most other insurance companies do accept the procedure. Also, no prescriptions are required for the Healthlight infrared light therapy system for personal acquisitions, or through a facility treatment. But through clinics that propose the infrared light therapy, a prescription is necessary if it needs to be reimbursed through the client’s health plan for private insurance.

Has anyone worked with Anadyne therapy?

    Posted: May 6th, 2010 | Author: admin | Filed under: infrared light therapy | Tags: , , , | 1 Comment »

I’ve read studies about the use of anadyne therapy (infrared light therapy) for wound care and pain management. I’m wondering if there are any people who have been successfully treated with this therapy, or healthcare professionals who have used it. Thank you.
